Remember back in 2000 when the Browns had the #1 pick in the draft for the second year in a row? They were considering two guys mostly: Courtney Brown and a speedy WR out of Florida State named Peter Warrick. You remember Warrick, the kid who put on a show in the 1999 National Title game. He looked like a cant miss prospect. Brown was the selection, and was best known for a bevy of injuries he suffered before the Browns eventually let him walk. Warrick was drafted by the Bengals at #4 and played five mostly forgettable season in the Nati. His best year was in 2003, where he caught 79 balls for 819 yards and 7 TD's. He was last seen returning punts in 2005.
Well after eight years, Warrick finally got his chance to play football in Cleveland. The bad news for him was that it was for the Cleveland Gladiators Arena League team. The season has not even begun yet, and the Gladiators have cut the 30 year old wideout who was attempting a comeback. Amazing how quick a star can fall.
But man was he good at Florida State. Check out this youtube video of his dominating performance in the 99 National Title game against Michael Vick and Virginia Tech.
