Coast to Coast...like Tyus Edney against Mizzou

I don't even know where to begin. The picture of Jessica Simpson is up because, well, look at her. Tony Romo may not be able to win a playoff game, but he's hit that, and in the game of life, he wins. One of our favorite comedians of all time is Eddie Murphy. They guy was so money in the 80's. Trading Places (the best comedy movie of all time), Beverly Hills Cop I and II, 48 Hours, etc, etc. On January 1st, our boy was married to girlfriend Tracy Edmonds in Bora, Bora. Last night word began to leak that two and a half weeks of marriage was enough for Eddie. It's over! I'm not kidding. It wasn't that long ago that Eddie knocked up Spice Girl Mel B. He drops her, gets with Edmonds, gets married and divorced before you can say Pluto Nash. Good thing Eddie is a mutli-millionaire.

Your daily Britney Spears update: She was spotted by paparazzi
shopping for a pregnancy test with her new boyfriend. It was also reported that the day of her massive meltdown, she left a suicide note. This whole thing is getting to be beyond sad.

Part two of the Chicago Bulls vs. Joakim Noah saga. According to the Chicago Sun Times
Two newspapers reported Noah and Ben Wallace had to be separated by Luol Deng in the visiting locker room in Orlando. Allegedly, Noah was miffed that Wallace was laughing on the bench while the Bulls were down 25 in the 4th quarter. Noah claims the story is completely false.

The Tigers just gave lefty Nate Robertson a three year, $21 million extension. That's good news to Tribe fans. The Indians own the average left-hander.

I'm not one for random youtube videos, but
this is a must watch. This Australian spoiled brat is getting lit up by this newscaster. It's epic.

This is Why Vinny Chase is the man. If this story is true, he actually cheated on Lindsay Lohan with Kim Kardashian. That's two of our top 10 babes. What a pimp.

Anyone else completely tired of Bill Simmons writing
Boston-Centric columns on ESPN.com? Seriously, do we really need a comparison between the 87 Celtics and the 07 Patriots?

Our friend Pauly Cousineau at The DiaTribe wrote this gem about
free agent pitchers over the past ten years. It's well written and very thorough.

The Big Lead snagged an interview with
the best beat reporter in the NBA, Brian Windhorst.

#5 Duke 70 Florida State 57 - We watched a lot of this game and it was a lot closer than the final score. Give Duke the nod for pulling this one out on the road against a game Seminoles club. The game got very chippy with Duke's Greg Paulus and FSU's Ryan Reid in the middle of it. Jon Scheyer led the Devils with 21 off the bench. Duke won the game by controlling the glass (40-27), something the perimeter oriented Devils rarely do. By the way, Paulus is so hateable. Why is it that every Duke team always has that one guy. From Laettner to Wojo to Redick to Paulus.

#2 Memphis 77 Rice 50 - Like we said last week, call us when they play Tennessee in February.

#15 Mississippi 89 Florida 87 - The Gators earned my respect with this close loss. Who says their are no such thing as moral victories? Ole Miss had a 17-1 first half run to jump all over the Gators, who couldn't stop Dwayne Curtis in the post. He had 20 and 12 to go with Trevor Haskins 19. Florida was game and made a furious second half comeback, but fell short. Nick Calathes and Dan Werner led the Gators with 16 apiece.

UMass 82 #18 Dayton 71 - The depth of the Atlantic 10 bit the Flyers on their home floor. Even with star Gary Forbes being held to 4-16 shooting, the Minutemen took it to Dayton from the opening tip. They stifled Brian Roberts and company to 37% shooting including 4-25 from deep. Meanwhile, UMass' Ricky Harris hit five three's on his way to 22 points in this huge resume building road win.

Temple 78 #20 Xavier 59 - Speaking of the depth of the A-10, this Xavier club came in red hot and was stunned by the 7-8 Owls. The three point shot is the great equalizer. Xavier has been living by the three during their impressive run over the last month. Last night, they were just 6-20, while Temple nailed 13-27. Dionte Christmas and Marcus Tyndale combined for 45 points and couldn't be stopped by the Musketeer defense. Of course this bad loss happens the day I list Xavier as one of my eight teams who can win it all.

#21 Villanova 76 Depaul 69 - I know they won, but they should not be ranked. They trailed at home to a bad Depaul team by nine at the half and needed a late 15-0 to pull the rabbit out of the hat and win. Scottie Reynolds scored 21 point and Antonio Pena added 17. Draelon Burns had 27 in a losing cause.

Texas Tech 68 #9 Texas A&M 53 - Congratulations to the General, Bob Knight, on career win #900 and beating a top 10 team in the process. "This thing never entered my mind," Knight said. "I could care less about this. I'm just happy to get it over with." A&M has played a pretty soft schedule thus far, and it didn't help them on the road last night. They had their worst shooting night of the season, 34% and scoring just 17 first half points. Freshman star DeAndre Jordan played just 13 minutes and scored just three points. Martin Zeno led the Red Raiders with 19.

#1 North Carolina 83 Georgia Tech 82 - What is it about Georgia Tech and good teams? Talk about playing up to the level of their competition. They gave Indiana, Kansas, and now North Carolina all they wanted. Enough about the 7-9 Yellow Jackets. The Tar Heels again escaped in a game they probably should have lost. Tyler Hansbrough was the man again for UNC, scoring 27 and grabbing 11 boards. The officiating would be classified as "interesting." The Heels went to the line 26 times to Georgia Tech's 10. After watching the majority of this game, I am now in agreement with what many of the experts say about UNC; they can be exploited defensively. I am now convinced that Kansas is a deeper and more talented team that the Heels.

Other Scores of Note:

Drake 69 Bradley 68 - Drake is now 15-1 and 6-0 in the MVC with this road win.

South Carolina 70 Arkansas 66 - Just when we want to bring the Razorbacks back into the conversation, they lay an egg at home to an 8-8 team.

Iowa State 72 Missouri 67 - How does Mizzou beat Texas, then lose to a bad Iowa State squad? More good news for the Tigers: 17-0 Kansas visits Saturday.

Purdue 67 Iowa 62 - Nice road win for the young Boilers. Remember it was just four days ago Iowa beat Michigan State on this same floor.

Syracuse 81 Rutgers 59 - The young Orange are now 13-5 after this blowout. Jonny Flynn had 24.
